A space for musicians and performance artists who push the edges and explore the taboo, erotic, spiritual/magical and bizarre, in both their magnificent sovereignty and collaborative fornications.
We believe in creating and honouring community containers where art and free expression can be experienced. In a world determined to censor or commodify all the beautiful, primal mess of humanity we embrace these unfettered articulations of flesh, blood and sex.
We’re also committed to creating a safe, judgement free space for you to experience this, and have a zero tolerance policy towards non-consensual and discriminatory behaviours. Please reach out to staff or organisers if you feel unsafe.

The Soft Machine strives for financial accessibility, fair pay for artists and building community - wherever possible our ticketing structures include sliding scale pricing to allow for attendees to Pay-What-You-Can - with a minimum set lower than the RRP ticket.
This means that those who can't pay the full price can still access the show, while those who can pay at and above the RRP to support art and subsidise community can easily do so!
All sales are split between the bands and performers with a cut for The Soft Machine; so as to keep this project sustainable while still creating viable opportunities for the artists that we're passionate about!
